Cultural Experience at Ndere Cultural Centre

A visit to Ndere cultural centre and an exhilarating cultural experience, tasty local cuisines and an enjoyable cultural evening.

The team will get immersed and be spoilt for choice as they sample delicious local Ugandan culinary, get entertained with a cultural performance, taste local brew at Uganda’s oldest cultural centre located at Kisaasi – Ntinda Road.

Return to hotel residence for rest.

The team will wake up for breakfast at 6:00am, and then set off to Jinja City in Eastern Uganda.

The team will drive enroute to Jinja city from Kampala covering approximately 140kms and the drive will take +/- 3 hours Via Gayaza Kalagi rd.

Jinja City tours, Itanda and Busowoko falls,  The Source of the Nile, Boat Cruise and Water Tubing

Jinja city is popular to many tourists as the ‘’Adventure Capital of East Africa’’, and its home to the Source of the Nile – the longest river in the world. Observe the genesis of the longest river in the world as it sets off from Lake Victoria, flowing northwards.

While in this lovely destination, the team will get to dive into unmissable experiences in this ‘’Adrenaline Capital of East Africa’’ geographically situated on the untouched opposite bank of the mighty River Nile.

The city also serves a haven to a variety of ancient Asian and colonial housing structural designs and industries with River Nile as her trade mark and major power house to Owen falls dam and Bujagali falls. As well, one shouldn’t miss out on the City’s vibrant nightlife that never goes to restfulness.

The distance from Jinja to Murchison falls NP is approximately 395km and it’s a drive of +/- 8 hours

The team will depart from the Hotel after having breakfast, and then proceed to Murchison falls   National Park with a stopover at Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

The team will be received and checked in at the lodge, relax, have dinner and retire to bed at leisure.

 Murchison Falls NP is bisected by the Victoria Nile, which plunges 45m over the remnant rift valley wall, creating the dramatic Murchison Falls, the centrepiece of the park and the final event in an 80km stretch of rapids.

The mighty cascade drains the last of the river’s energy, transforming it into a broad, placid stream that flows quietly across the rift valley floor into Lake Albert. This stretch of river provides one of Uganda’s most remarkable wildlife spectacles. Regular visitors to the riverbanks include elephants, giraffes, and buffaloes; while hippos, Nile crocodiles, and aquatic birds are permanent residents.

The team will pick packed breakfast then depart for the morning game drive at 6:00am. Having seen the Rhinos already, the team will be looking out for other 4 animals (Lions, Leopard, African Elephants, Buffaloes) to tick off all the big five though MFNP is home to more animals with over 144 mammals, 556 bird species, 51 reptiles, and 51 Amphibians. With a great number of African elephants, Murchison Falls is impressive all year round.  Historically Giraffes exclusively inhabit the northern sector of the park. Buffalo populations have spiked to over 10,000 while Uganda kobs have leaped to more than 35,000.

The team will then go back to the Lodge have lunch and set off to go catch the Boat cruise.

Visit to the Top of the Falls

Gear up to catch alluring views of the mighty River Nile as it down pours through hundreds of feet, causing an eruption at the base of the falls like no other at the most powerful waterfalls in the world.

Afternoon Boat cruise to the falls

The boat cruise to the bottom of  the falls offers a mind blowing experience as one gets  up close with animals such as elephants, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, many bird species including the African Fish eagle as the boat is moving then all of a sudden you get to hear the roaring of the water falls, this gets you excited even before seeing the most powerful water falls in the world then you get to see the falls at this point is when you get to understand the meaning of the saying that Uganda is gifted by Nature. The Boat cruise will take 2 hours.

Evening Dinner at the Lodge

After the boat cruise the team will return to the lodge to relax, have dinner and retire to bed at leisure.

The distance from Murchison Falls National Park to Kibale National Park (KFNP) via Masindi, Buliisa, Hoima, Kyenjojo and Fort Portal is approximately 388km and the drive will take +/- 8 hours inclusive stop overs.

The team will travel to Kibale National Park through Masindi, Buliisa, Hoima, Kyenjojo and Fort Portal where they will be destined for Chimpanzee trekking of the Kanyanchu community next day.

Check in at the Lodge for overnight Stay in Fort Portal, the tourism City.

The team will relax at the lodge as they wait for dinner to be served and retiring to bed will be at leisure.

Kibale National Park is also known as the Primate Capital of the world, Kibale’s most popular activity is the Kanyanchu Primate Walk. Thirteen species can be sought, and a good variety of diurnal monkeys invariably encountered, but the stars of this trail are the chimpanzees. Kanyanchu’s chimps have been tracked since 1993 and the chances of locating them are excellent. Guided walks start at 8am and 2pm and last an average of three hours, depending on various factors. The team will have early breakfast at the lodge then set off for KFNP visitor centre for the briefing then proceed to trekking the Chimpanzees and this can take +/- 3 hours.

Lunch Break

After trekking, we will have lunch at one of the Local restaurants.

Visit to Bigodi Community in Kibale

After lunch, we will relax for some time before heading out for a community experience. After, we shall visit one or two communities leaving around the park.

Evening Dinner at the Lodge

After the community visits, we will return to the lodge to relax, wait for dinner to be served, retire to bed at leisure.

The distance from Kibale National Park to Semuliki National Park via Bundibugyo Road is 57 kms.

This park is uniquely located between the borders of Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, near to the Semuliki and Lamia rivers, with Lake Albert to its north and the glaciated Mount Rwenzori to its southeast.

After an early morning breakfast, we will check out of the lodge and head enroute to Semuliki national park’s savannah grasslands.

Along the way we will have a few stop overs for scenic photography.

Arrive at Semuliki NP UWA Offices for a briefing

We will visit both the male and female hot springs as we explore the 220 square kilometres as we explore the historic and romantic Sempaya hot springs, plus see spectacular landscapes and birds while learning about their geological formations on guided tours.

The pair of these male and female hot springs are the park’s most adorned feature. The male hot spring, Bintente, is a broad steaming pool 12 metres in diameter found in a substantial, swampy clearing encircled by a forest and a Rwenzori mountain backdrop. Nyasimbi, which means the female ancestors, is a boiling geyser that outbursts bubbling water mixed with steam up to two meters high as  it boils at 103 degrees Celsius; visitors can also boil eggs or cook matooke here in just five minutes.

After the visits to Sempaya male and female hot springs, the team will return to Fort Portal and visit the famous and historical “Amabeere ga Nyinamwiru” caves.

Departure to Queen Elizabeth National park

We will set off from Semuliki to Queen Elizabeth National Park covering approximately a 150km distance lasting between +/-4 hours inclusive of stop overs for stretching, leg relaxation and refreshments. Check in to the Lodge, relax, go to bed at Leisure.

QENP- Founded in 1952 as Kazinga National Park and renamed two years later to commemorate a visit by Queen Elizabeth II of England. QENP is crossed by the Equator and Set against the backdrop of the jagged Rwenzori Mountains. Its home to over 95 mamal species including 10 primate and 600 bird species.

We will depart from the lodge with parked breakfast so as we get to see the big cats in their natural haven before the sun fully raises.

While here, we shall come across herds of Elephants, Buffaloes, kobs, antelopes and schools of hippopotamus throughout the game drive.  A stopover will be made at lake Katwe to refresh, experience salt mining and buy some souvenirs.

Afternoon Boat Cruise on the Kazinga Channel –

After a 2 hour Lunch break, well go for a boat Cruise along the Kazinga Channel, Which is a 40km long water stream connecting lakes George and Edward beneath the Mweya penicular. This boat cruise will surely be one of your highlights for your safari experience in Uganda as its an up-close moment with most of the animals you would have seen on the game drive and more. The cruise is 2 hours starting at 2:00pm

Evening Dinner at the Lodge-

By 6:30pm the lodge will be ready to serve dinner until 9:30 or 10:00pm. After the day’s activities relaxing at lounge to access internet is very much encouraged before or after diner and retiring to bed is at leisure

The Distance will be approximately 215km covered with in +/- 6hours.

This road  is mostly Murram with some sections being rough and bumpy. The journey can be slow especially during the rainny season as it gets muddy and slippery. The drive takes you through picturesque landscapes including rolling hills, forests and tea plantations. Going through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National park, you could get a chance to spot the tree-climbing Lions and other wild life.

The team will stopover at Kihihi for lunch and refreshments at a local restaurant or lodge.

Late after Lunch arrival, Check in at the hotel and relax from a tiresome journey, preparing for the following day’s awesome trek.

Gorilla Trekking Briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority officials in Buhoma sector.

Gorilla trekking in the Buhoma sector begins at the head office for briefing and allocation of gorilla groups, then spreads out to various trail heads leading to the gorilla groups scattered around the sector. Buhoma sector has five gorilla families available for gorilla trekking that include; Mubare, Habinyanya, Rushegura, Busingye,  and Katwe Gorilla troops.

We will be trekking one of these families and the allocation is done during the briefing.

Overnight Stay at the Lodge – After trekking we will return to the lodge, relax, have dinner and retire to bed at leisure

Prepare for a long drive, covering approximately 520km in about 10 to 11hours inclusive of Stop overs.

We will leave Bwindi headed back to Entebbe Airport Via Mbarara Masaka road, with a stop over at the Kayabwe Equator.
